Discover Our Story
BCS stands for Brotherhood of the Cross and Star, also known as Christ’s Universal Spiritual School of Practical Christianity. In the teaching of BCS, the Kingdom emanated through the dictates of the Holy Spirit.
Everything in Brotherhood of the Cross and Star is united under the directives of the Holy Spirit. BCS upholds one Leader and supernatural Teacher: the Holy Spirit, the Triune God personified in Leader Olumba Olumba Obu, the Sole Spiritual Head of the universe, according to the Brotherhood’s faith.
At the heart of this spiritual identity is a call to practise the teachings of Our Lord Jesus Christ: to love, forgive, serve, and seek righteousness in daily life.
From the commencement of His ministry, the Holy Father’s teaching has testified to Our Lord Jesus Christ rather than bearing record of Himself. He continually points to the Father and to Our Lord Jesus Christ, emphasising that honour should be given to whom honour is due.

One Spirit · One Brotherhood
Brotherhood is not confined to any race, nation or group. Its meaning reaches beyond human divisions to the oneness of God and all His creation.
The teaching of the Supernatural Teacher affirms that differences of colour, nationality and outward form do not change the common spiritual origin of creation. From humanity to the fishes, animals, birds, trees and grasses, the message is one of shared spiritual belonging.
“Whether you are a European or an African, the body and the spirit is the same.”
In BCS, the call to oneness is an invitation to overcome division and recognise every person as part of one universal family.
The Brotherhood’s teaching speaks of the manifestation of God’s glory on earth. It calls humanity to recognise the presence of God rather than confine His reality to distant expectation.
Within this spiritual understanding, the hour is presented as one in which honour, praise and thanksgiving are offered to God, whose presence embraces all His children.
In the teachings of Leader Olumba Olumba Obu, God is the Father of all creation (Malachi 2:10), the Supreme Being, the source of all existence, and the architect of everything visible and invisible. His love, forgiveness and authority are for all humanity.
God is presented as real and living—not merely an idea, myth or figment of imagination. The teachings refer to water, blood and spirit in explaining the nature of physical existence.
1 John 5:5–8God is not limited to one place. BCS teaches that He can manifest as a being and remain present throughout humanity and all creation simultaneously.
John 4:20–24 · Luke 17:20–21In the Brotherhood’s teaching, God may manifest on the terrestrial plane as a human being, while remaining Spirit on the celestial plane.
John 1:1, 10–11, 14John 1:1 — “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.”
John 1:10–11 — “He was in the world, and the world was made by Him, and the world knew Him not. He came unto His own, and His own received Him not.”
John 1:14 — “And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us … full of grace and truth.”
The Holy Father teaches that the Kingdom of God, proclaimed by Our Lord Jesus Christ, is the spiritual rule of God over humanity rather than a political kingdom.
BCS presents the Kingdom as established in fulfilment of biblical prophecy, with Brotherhood of the Cross and Star as its nucleus and the Lord’s school of righteousness. This understanding draws upon Daniel’s vision, Revelation and Isaiah’s prophecy.
The spiritual standard set before humanity is a life of perfection through abstinence from sin and the practice of the great commandments of love.
“I am neither God nor prophet, nor church leader, nor angel, nor Christ. I am that I am.”
The source account records these words as the Holy Father’s response when asked about His personage by a journalist. It also refers to the publication I Am Not God But Olumba Olumba Obu. The account acknowledges that people have understood and described Him in very different ways; His spiritual identity remains central to the Brotherhood’s faith and teachings.
Learn more about the Holy FatherThese are more than words: they shape the Brotherhood’s call to practical Christianity, charity and unity across race, creed and every human difference.
Love encompasses and unifies all creation. It is blind to race, gender, nationality and religious affiliation. BCS teaches that we must show kindness even to those who have offended us.
Through the grace of Our Lord Jesus Christ, faith strengthens the commitment to relieve suffering and distress and to serve neighbours with compassion.
Hope gives confidence that love can transform lives, inspiring others to extend the same kindness, forgiveness and understanding to every person.
As a charitable organisation, BCS promotes and advances the teachings of the Holy Spirit through service. Its message calls for the healing of poverty of mind, body and spirit and for solidarity with organisations working toward the same goal.
Following the example of Our Lord Jesus Christ, the Brotherhood teaches love toward all people—including those regarded as enemies—and calls for freedom from hatred, discrimination, greed, dishonesty, impatience and other conduct contrary to righteousness.
To promote consistency throughout Brotherhood of the Cross and Star, a comprehensive Handbook was compiled from the direct instructions and directives of the Holy Father. It serves as the official reference for procedures and practices across the Brotherhood world.
This commitment to shared guidance reflects the belief that all practices in BCS should follow the direction of the one supernatural Teacher.
